Wednesday was racecar day. Guille and his abuelo share a love for cars that go vroom, so we set out to the Museo Ferrari in Maranello. We learned about Ferrari’s history, and saw a lot of sleek red cars. In the afternoon, we rush over to Autodromo di Modena where Guillermo and his dad Bill drive race-ready cars around the local test track – Bill in a Ferrari 488 and Guillermo in a Lamborghini Huracán. They started with a lap driven by the pilot (to show them the ropes), then they each drove 5 laps, hitting 110mph. And boy did those cars go! It was a sweet, multi-generational moment shared by the 3 Guillermos to celebrate Bill’s birthday, and make little Guille’s dream of watching racecars come to life.
